About our speaker:

Sharleen Walkoviak is co-owner, vice president and CFO of Houston-based Covenant Technology Services LLC, a provider of information technology services to small and medium-sized businesses. She is a CPA, having received her degree in accounting from Texas A&M in 1977.

Sharleen is on the Development Council of the Bush School at Texas A&M and she and her husband of 39 years, Ron, sponsor an endowed scholarship at the Bush School.

Sharleen has received many honors and awards over the years, including Community Champion for Texas Children’s Cancer Center Celebration of Champions and being honored as one of Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women in 2015.  In 2016, she was inducted into the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame.

In 2012, Sharleen was a recipient of Rodeo Houston’s Trailblazer Award honoring female volunteers who have served on multiple committees for a minimum of 10 years. The next year, she was appointed by the Show to a search committee tasked with finding candidates to fill the president and CEO vacancy.

At the time of her election as one of the 18 elected vice presidents who oversee the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo more than 30,000 volunteers, Sharleen was the only woman out of the eighteen. And, she's only the sixth-ever female vice president since the Show's inception in 1932.

Sharleen completed her VP assignment with the wrap-up of the 2016 rodeo and is now officially a Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Lifetime Vice President. During her three years as a sitting VP, Sharleen had organizational responsibility for hundreds of volunteers on six committees. She served as officer in charge of the Auctions Assistance, Carnival Ticket Sales, Graphics & Signage, Lamb & Goat Auction, Tours, and Trailblazer committees.
