About The Event

Remember your good friends in Houston Aggie Women? Remember the great networking In Real Life at our monthly luncheons? Well, let's get back to that!

Pivoting takes many forms.

Our speaker this month is Angela Witzkoske, Miss Southeast Texas 2020.  Angela is a first generation Aggie, Class of 2018, with a degree in Communication and a minor in journalism. She will share the story of her path from Gonzales, Texas, to College Station; the effects of the Miss America Organization on her life; and the effects of the current pandemic on the Miss America Organization. Did you know it was created almost 100 years ago on the heels of the 'Spanish flu' health crisis?

Maggiano's will be observing all recommended social distancing guidelines. We are limited to 6 guests at each table. Maximum of 24 guests in the room. All banquet staff will be wearing masks and gloves.

HOUSTON AGGIE WOMEN events are OPEN TO ALL - men and women, Aggies and Non-Aggies - anyone needing a little boost.

Second Tuesday of every month - networking starts at 11:30 a.m., lunch from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.

SPEAKER: ANGELA WITZKOSKE '18, MISS SOUTHEAST TEXAS 2020

I am 23 years old, I grew up in Gonzales, Texas - home of Come and Take It and the best TexMex around! I have an older brother named Cody; he and my sister-in-law have two kids, Lainey and Coby. I grew up with a very small family (I actually don't have any cousins) with A LOT of animals. At my parents ranch we raise cattle and goats, often find ourselves raising baby chickens and ducks, and continuously adding to our ever growing fur family.

Growing up, I was a baton twirler for 10 years, started cheerleading in middle school, played the flute in band and finished my senior year on the dance team. I have always had a passion for public speaking and actually competed in public speaking competitions through FFA in high school. I love being creative, challenging myself and trying new things. After high school, I went to Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in Communication with a minor in journalism. I am a first generation Aggie and college graduate. Upon graduation, I accepted a position with HighRadius Corporation as an inside sales representative and have continued to move up the ranks with 3 promotions over the past 2 years. I love my company and the people I work with.

I decided to compete for Miss America Local competitions because of the awesome scholarship opportunities provided by the organization- as a first generation college student, this will help me pay off the fair amount of student debt I've accumulated.

I have had such a wonderful experience with the Miss Texas Organization and the girls in it - this is by far the friendliest and genuinely nice group of women, I've ever had the pleasure of competing with.

I'm so excited to continue my year of service and getting to know all of the incredible women of the Miss Texas Class of 2020.
